Share Your Wayne State Story!
The Wayne State Foundation, with Wayne State archivist Marcus Schlichter, is collaborating with PCI on an oral history project with our alumni. The goal of this project is to help collect stories about alumni experiences on campus and how Wayne State College has impacted their lives in order to help develop our Wayne State oral history archives. Stories and photos shared by alumni will be published in a Wayne State Foundation oral history project publication. The total duration of the oral history project is about 12 months.
For this project, the Wayne State Foundation has partnered with PCI (also known as Publishing Concepts), a company located in Dallas, that publishes directories for educational institutions, fraternities, sororities, and military organizations across the nation. PCI has been reaching out to our alumni through mailed postcards, emails, and phone calls to collect Wayne State stories for the project.
The oral history project began in May 2020. The first phase of the project, gathering stories and updating information, is now complete. PCI will be compiling and transcribing your stories for the oral history publication through May 2021. Apparel purchases will be sent to alumni in November/December 2020, and remaining purchases that include the final publication or your specific story will be sent at the conclusion of the project.
