How to Help a Student

Often a student will reach out to faculty and staff about their mental health concerns or life stressors. We support you in developing healthy, supportive relationships with your students. We offer consultation and support to you as you assist students in finding resources, support, and developing healthy lifestyles. Faculty and staff may contact Student Health and Counseling Services for consultation at 402-375-7321 or email us at [email protected].

We also conduct workshops and give presentations to classes, student organizations, and clubs. Our presentations and workshops address a variety of subjects including suicide prevention, stress management, sexual assault response, self-esteem, test anxiety, and eating disorders, to name a few. To request a presentation, please call Student Health and Counseling Services at 402-375-7321 or email us at [email protected].

Faculty and staff who may be experiencing their own mental health concerns or life stressors, are encouraged to access the Employee Assistance Program or contact Human Resources.
