Liz Wallace

Liz Wallace

Hometown: O’Neill, Neb.

Major: Speech Communication, Organizational Leadership, Public Relations

Year: Senior

Transferred from: Northeast Community College, where she received an associate degree in Administrative Assisting

Future plans: Graduate with a bachelor’s degree. Work as a college administrator, specifically in the admissions department.

Wallace transferred to Wayne to remain close to her hometown with the hope that the small campus atmosphere would welcome her with open arms. Wayne State did just that.

“Feels like home,” she said.

Wallace especially likes the Holland Academic Success Center and Counseling Center.

“The resources that are offered here have greatly enhanced my experience,” she said.

Wallace said she fell in love with her major right away because of the closeness within the communications department. She said the organizational leadership portion of her major will benefit her career goals, while her experience working in the president’s office at WSC has been a vital part in expanding her knowledge and gaining organizational skills.

“Transferring opened my eyes to more opportunities and helped me step out of my comfort zone,” she said.
