Math Course Placement Guide

Students are placed in their first appropriate math course based on ACT or SAT math scores – see chart below. If a student does not have an ACT or SAT math score, or wishes to challenge placement in their first math course at WSC, the student may take a placement exam. The exam can be completed only once per year and is taken in the Physical Sciences and Math Department at WSC. Based on placement, the student may need to take additional courses as prerequisites for the math course required by their major. Please see the Mathematics section of the course catalog for more details.
