A Midsummer Night's Dream

Imagine the celebrated marriage of a duke and queen upstaged by the antics of four star-crossed lovers. The Wayne State College production of "A Midsummer Night’s Dream" overflows with turmoil and delight as wrongs get righted, lovers fight and forgive, and actors have their big moment just before the curtain falls.

One of William Shakespeare’s most beloved comedies, "A Midsummer Night’s Dream" is a delightful exploration of the highs and lows of love, exacerbated by the magic of forest fairies. The WSC Theatre Program will deliver this energetic play set in the 1930s.

The show is directed by Dr. Jeanne Tiehen, Assistant Professor of Communication Arts and Director of Theatre, with help from stage manager Mary Joan Waterhouse of Spirit Lake, Iowa. Anna Kruger of Wayne serves as costume designer. The cast includes Griffin Presnell and Skyler Stefanski of Lincoln; Benjamin Bjorklund and Zoe Conley of Wakefield; Hannah Rosentrater of Paxton; Trystan Bennett of Palmer; Myah Gibney of Fremont; Sarah Wibben, Jack Osnes, Jaci Torres, Claire Barnes, and Michaela Timmerman of Wayne; Brittani Beegle of Ainsworth; Miranda Trowbridge of Murdock; Sierra Cox of Louisville; Samantha Henery of Madison; Austin Burkhardt of Winnetoon; Caleb Cohen of Missouri Valley, Iowa; Dakota Schroll of Wood River; Emma Krysl of Stuart; and William Morales of Lexington.

The show runs just over two hours with intermission.
