About Dr. Small: A professor emeritus of history at Salisbury University in Maryland, during her 40-year career she has become one of the leading scholars and historians on African American history in Eastern Maryland, writing several books and giving numerous presentations on the subject. Dr. Clara Small will share her research as well as her story of trials during a time when educated African-American women were scarce on the academic landscape.
