Frederick Bruno

Frederick Bruno was a standout wide receiver and kick returner for the Wildcats from 2007-10. A graduate of Miami Springs HS in Florida, Bruno earned All-NSIC First or Second Team honors three seasons and as a freshman was named the NSIC Newcomer of the Year. He helped WSC reach the Mineral Water Bowl in 2007 and the NCAA Division II playoffs in 2008. Bruno was First Team All-NSIC as a junior and senior (2009, 2010). As a junior, he had 1,163 yards receiving on 77 catches and nine TD’s to lead the NSIC in both categories, ranking seventh in NCAA DII in receiving yards per game (105.7) and 11th in catches per game (7.0). His 1,163 receiving yards were the fourth most in a single season by a Wildcat receiver. As a senior, he was First Team All-NSIC and All-Super Region 3 First Team. Bruno finished his Wildcat career ranked second in career receptions (191), second in receiving yards (2,626), tied for third in career touchdowns (36), third in career kick return yards (1437) and fourth in career punt return yards (418). Following his WSC playing days, Bruno has continued to play indoor football with the Sioux City Bandits and is the team’s all-time leader in seven categories that include career TD catches (84), all-purpose yards (10,026), points scored (970) and kick return TD’s (15).
