Wayne Stater
The Wayne Stater has served the college as its campus newspaper since 1911. The weekly newspaper provides a learning laboratory for journalism students as well as a local news source for the college and larger community. The Wayne Stater is also online at thewaynestater.com.
Staff members of The Wayne Stater are given opportunities to travel to regional and national conferences. We have attended the largest college journalism conference in the world, hosted by the College Media Advisors, in such cities as St. Louis, Kansas City, and Chicago. Students are rewarded with these opportunities for serving on The Wayne Stater staff in various editorial capacities: editor-in-chief, news, sports, lifestyle, online, or opinion page editor. There are also positions available as copy editors, graphic designers, and advertising salespersons.
