Chi Sigma Iota (Chi Sigma Lambda Chapter)

Chi Sigma Iota (CSI) is an international honor society that values academic and professional excellence in counseling. Wayne State College’s chapter is Chi Sigma Lambda and was founded in 2014. Our members consist of professional counselors, counselor educators, and graduate students who contribute to the realization of a healthy society by fostering wellness and human dignity.

Each year eligible graduate students in the counseling department are invited to join based on chapter recommendation. Graduate students must have completed at least one semester in their specific counseling program with a minimum of a 3.5 grade point average. New members receive a frameable certificate and pin, and are also eligible to purchase graduation cords to commemorate their achievement.

CSI has more than 400 chapters and is one of the largest and most prestigious counseling honor societies in the world. Our local CSI chapter engages in annual service projects in the local community, participates in on-campus events, and serves as student leaders in the Wayne State Counseling department.
