Roni Johnson Wobken

Roni Johnson Wobken was a standout pitcher on the Wayne State softball team in the late 1980's and 1990 and still holds numerous school records. The Wayne High graduate had a 42-33 career record and set 14 school records during her pitching career. At the time of the her induction, she set the single season strikeout mark and innings pitched record in 1990 by recording 225 strikeouts in 223.1 innings pitched with a 20-13 record. Johnson Wobken was a First Team All-NAIA District 11 selection as a senior and a Second Team honoree as a sophomore. She was also named Miss Nebraska Softball in 1986 and 1987 and is still very active in softball today, serving as the head softball coach at Logan View High School. Johnson Wobken was inducted into the WSC Athletics Hall of Fame on October 7, 2006.
