Rod Tietsort

Inducted: 1980

Rod Tietsort attended Wayne State from 1957-61 and played football all four years. During the 1958 season, he caught 9 passes for 130 yards and kept improving. In 1959, he caught 18 passes for 246 yards, and in 1960 led the Wildcats in receiving. Rod was named football MVP by his teammates in 1958, 1959 and 1960, and was an Associated Press 'Little All-American' honorable mention in 1960. Rod also played baseball for Wayne State in 1959 and 1960. Since leaving Wayne State, Rod has attended the University of Northern Colorado and Colorado University for post-graduate study. At the time of his induction, Rod was teaching and coaching at the high school level at Jefferson County Public Schools in the Denver metro area. Tietsort was inducted into the WSC Athletics Hall of Fame October 11, 1980.
