Ed Jochum

Ed Jochum ranks as one of the greatest quarterbacks in school history at Wayne State, setting numerous passing records while sporting a Wildcat uniform from 1982-85. At the time of his induction in 2005, Jochum, a native of Norfolk, Neb. (Norfolk Catholic HS), held the school record for career touchdown passes (44) and passing attempts in a season (449). He still holds the school record for the longest passing play in school history, a 98 yard pass to Sonny Jones in 1985 vs. Midland Lutheran College. Jochum earned First Team All-Central States Intercollegiate Conference honors at WSC during his 1984 season, throwing for 2,947 yards and 24 touchdowns as the Wildcats finished with a 7-4 record. He was also selected honorable mention AP Little All-American in 1984. Jochum finished his WSC career with 5,916 yards, second-most in school history. Jochum was inducted into the WSC Athletics Hall of Fame October 1, 2005.
