Darold and Maxine Bobier

The Bobiers are long time supporters of Wayne State College and return to Wayne annually for homecoming events. Darold is a native of South Sioux City and a 1946 graduate of Wayne State College. He lettered in three sports at Wayne State and went on to a successful career in education, serving 34 years as a teacher and adminstrator in the Denver (Colorado) Public School system until his retirement in 1987. Bobier also taught and coached at Cleghorn, Iowa (1946-48) and Hartington, Nebraska (1948-53). Maxine Bobier also served a lengthy career in education as a fourth-grade teacher in Westminster, Colorado. The Bobiers have contributed to academic and athletic department scholarships at Wayne State along with the Cunningham Field and Rice Auditorium renovation projects and numerous athletic clubs. They are also Wayne State Foundation trustees and Heritage Society members and currently reside in Arvada, Colorado.The Bobiers were inducted as contributors to the WSC Athletic Hall of Fame on September 25, 2010.
