Brad Joens

Joens ranks as one of the best three point shooters in Wayne State men's basketball history during his playing career from 1997-2001. The Cedar Rapids, Iowa native ranks as the all-time leader in three point baskets with 310 and ranks fifth in career scoring with 1,556 points. Joens was a two-time All Northern Sun Conference selection as a junior and senior, helping WSC make back-to-back NCAA Tournament appearances in 1998-99 and 1999-2000. He averaged 15.5 points per game in his junior season in 1999-2000, helping WSC win the Northern Sun Conference regular season and tournament titles and the Sweet 16 of the NCAA Tournament where WSC reached the regional final before falling to eventual national champion Metro State. Joens still holds the school record for making 9 of 9 three pointers vs. MSU Moorhead on January 14, 2000 and finished his career starting 102 out of 117 career games. At the time of his induction on September 25, 2010, Joens was residing in Fairfax, Iowa working as a commercial banking officer at Hills Bank and Trust Company.
