Create a Professional Portfolio
1.1 Create a Customizable Portfolio
Your Anthology Portfolio account will typically be used to submit coursework for assessment, but it can do much more! This workflow will teach you how to create a Customizable Portfolio, which can be beneficial for compiling your best work to showcase to future employers. Do not let the example below limit the possibilities - you can create and use a customizable portfolio for anything, and share it with anyone! This is the first lesson in the workflow, and will teach you how to create your Customizable Portfolio.
Step 1: Access My Coursework
1. Click on the Main Menu Icon.
2. Click on the Work option.
3. Select My Portfolios.
Step 2: Create New Portfolio
4. Click on the New Portfolio button to create a new portfolio.
5. Enter a Name for your portfolio.
NOTE: You should consider naming your portfolio after yourself, or after its purpose (i.e.. Professional Portfolio, Mike's Professional Portfolio, etc.)
6. Using the Table of Contents drop-down menu select Customizable Table of Contents.
7. Click Create.
1.2 Build Your Custom Table of Contents
Once the Customizable Portfolio has been created, you will need to build the Table of Contents/structure for it. This lesson will teach you how to create sections and sub-sections in your portfolio.
NOTE: By default, you will already have a 'Home' section in your portfolio. You will add new sections and sub-sections below this home section.
Step 1: Return to Portfolio Navigation
If you have just created a new portfolio, you will automatically land on the "Home" page. To build the structure for your portfolio, you will need to return to the main navigation page for your portfolio.
1. Click on the Open Book icon.
Step 2: Enable Edit Mode
Before you can add main pages to your portfolio, you must enable the Table of Contents Edit Mode.
What is a 'main page'?
A main page is a sub-page to the "Home" page in your portfolio. You can add main pages to your portfolio, and sub-pages to your main pages.
2. Click on the Enable Table of Contents Edit Mode button.
3. Click on the +Add button to add a new main page.
NOTE: To continue to add main pages to your portfolio, you must click on "Home" before clicking "Add" again.
4. Enter a Name for your new page.
Once you have added all of your desired pages,
5. You can select the page to Add a sub-page to, Rename, or Delete.
Once you are satisfied,
6. Click the Done Editing button.
NOTE: You can return at any time to add, rename, or delete pages from your portfolio.
1.3 Add Content to Your Portfolio: Original Content
Adding content to your professional portfolio is the most important step. The content is what the reader will view when they access your portfolio. This lesson will teach you how to add various types of content to your portfolio, as well as using some of the features above and beyond their baseline functions. This includes, but is not limited to: Embedding YouTube videos, Embedding an Image (so that it does not appear as a thumbnail), and more.
Step 1: Select the Portfolio Page
1. Using the Table of Contents on the left side of your screen, click to select the page that you would like to add content to.
Step 2: Locate the Add Content Menu
The Add Content menu is present on each page of your portfolio and includes all of the tools necessary for adding content to your portfolio. Review the various options below to learn more:
Add Text
The 'Add Text' feature enables you to add text directly to your portfolio section rather than uploading it as a MS Word document. Our text editor enables you to format your text to ensure that it appears clean and professional.
Add Text: Insert Full-Size Image
When adding an image using the 'Upload New File' or 'Add File' options, it will appear as a thumbnail. In order to add a full-size image to your portfolio, use the 'Add Text' to access the 'Add Image' feature in the text editor.
Add Text: Embed a Youtube video
The 'Add Text' feature also enables you to embed a YouTube video link within your portfolio. The video will be playable directly on the portfolio section, eliminating the need to redirect to a different browser tab or window.
Add Text: Create a Direct URL to a File
The 'Add Text' feature also enables you to create a direct URL to a file that you have previously uploaded. The URL is sharable via hyperlink within your portfolio, or by pasting it into an email or onto a website. The direct URL prompts an automatic download of the file.
Add Text: Insert a Mathematical Formula
The 'Add Text' feature also includes a LaTeX mathematical formula creator. This feature allows users to insert mathematical formulas into their portfolio, which normally could not be achieved using standard keyboard symbols.
Upload and/or Add File
The 'Upload New File' and 'Add File' options both enable you to add a file to your portfolio. 'Upload New File' should be used when uploading a file from your local hard drive to myEportfolio for the first time. 'Add File' should be used if you have already uploaded the file to myEportfolio (in another portfolio, or in your File Library) and would like to add it to your portfolio.
Upload a New File
Upload New File provides you with the option to include tags to your file which helps with File Library organization. Additionally, you can choose various conversion options if the file is a video file.
Files from My Library
Files from My Library is a quick and easy way to add an existing file from within your Chalk & Wire account to your portfolio.
Add Journal Entries
The 'Add Journal Entries' option enables you to add existing journal entries from the 'Journals' feature directly to your portfolio.
Add Form
The 'Add Form' option enables you to select a pre-made form, add it to your portfolio, and complete it.
Link to a Portfolio Page
The 'Link to a Portfolio Page' option enables you to add a hyperlink on one section of your portfolio or assignment that will 'jump' to another section.

The Portfolio Settings feature enables you to edit the name, table of contents, and theme of the portfolio. Additionally, you can choose a color or upload a background image for your portfolio, and edit the footer that appears at the bottom of the portfolio.
NOTE: Portfolio themes, background images, and background colors will not affect the way your portfolio appears within the myEportfolio application. These changes affect how the portfolio appears to people who are viewing the portfolio via secure URL.

If anyone other than yourself attempts to access this preview, they will receive an error indicating that they do not have the authorization to view the page. If you would like to share your portfolio, please visit our Share your Portfolio section below.
1.6 Share Your Portfolio
The Sharing feature enables you to create a secure URL that links to your portfolio. This is helpful if the person that you would like to share your portfolio with does not have a myEportfolio account.

6. Click on the Generate Share URL button to create the secure Share URL with your selected settings.
7. View previous shares by clicking on them.
Step 3: Distribute Secure Share URL
After generating the URL, sharing options will appear at the bottom of the Sharing section. Use the options provided to share the URL via email, Twitter, Facebook, and/or LinkedIn. Alternatively, you can copy the URL, by highlighting it in the Share URL text box, and paste it in an email, on a webpage, etc.
