Major: Elementary Education
The most inspirational persons/mentors in my life are my parents (I can’t pick one over the other).
Best advice I can give to an incoming freshman is to follow your dreams and don’t let anyone take that away from you. In order to make your dreams/goals in college come true, be sure to work first, play later.
I am from Omaha, NE, and I am a senior at Wayne State. I have 3 older siblings. I love to cook, clean and scrapbook. I am a perfectionist:). My favorite movie is Sweet Home Alabama, my favorite color is green and my favorite foods are country fried chicken with mash potatoes and Rueben sandwiches. I enjoy shopping and buying unnecessary things.

The most inspirational person/mentor in my life is my grandmother because she has overcome so many obstacles and has succeeded in the face of adversity. She has provided our family with love and support through the years. Oh yea, and Barack Obama (duh!).
Best advice I can give to an incoming freshman is set a goal and let nothing stop you from achieving it.
I am from Sioux City, IA. I am the oldest of 3, love purple, music, talking and traveling. One day I hope to be a civil rights attorney where I would aim to make a difference in a life other than my own. My friends are a huge part of my happiness and my best memories in life are the moments spent laughing. I love my STRIDE/SSS family!

The most inspirational person/mentor in my life is my dad. He inspired me to go to college and to finish my degree.
Best advice I can give to an incoming freshman is not to procrastinate! Talk to your professor if you need help. Go to tutors, they are there to help!
I am from Petersburg, NE, and I am 20 years old. I love my family and friends. I also love sports such as basketball, track and softball. I like to watch movies and listen to music.

Best advice I can give to an incoming freshman is to make smart choices; get your homework done on time and don’t stay out too late on a school night, but have fun at the same time.
I am from Lincoln, NE. I am a junior at Wayne State. This is my 19th year of dancing (tap, jazz, ballet). I am a fun person to be around; you’ll never be bored.

Best advice I can give to an incoming freshman is don’t let you homework pile up. Just do it!
I am from a small town in southwest Minnesota called Leota. I love to hunt and fish. I enjoy farming and working with my hands. I also enjoy hanging out with my friends and family. You will probably find me either in my room or in the library.

Best advice I can give to an incoming freshman is never be afraid to ask for help. Join activities on
campus and get to know people. Go to class and do your homework. Use your time wisely. Remember, college is about having fun, but you also need to get your assignments done as well.
I am from Tilden, NE, and live on a farm. I am a sophomore at Wayne State. I have one brother, Eric, who attends Northeast Community College. I love hanging out with family and friends, going to movies, listening to music and meeting new friends.

The most inspirational person/mentor in my life is my mother. She is a triple amputee who always has a smile on her beautiful face. She is so hardworking and persistent.
Best advice I can give to an incoming freshman is don’t be afraid to try new things and give your full potential.
I am from Scotia, NE. I really like the Nightmare Before Christmas, Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles, Jurassic Park, The Punisher, Marilyn Manson, Amy Lee, Mexican food, peaches, Reese’s Peanut Butter Cups, the Colts (I love Peyton Manning) and Rugby.

Major: Political Science Minor: Geography
The most inspirational persons/mentors in my life are my mother and my father. They have always been there for me, from my academic success to my personal struggles. I have taken their love and advice and applied it to how I can be a success in not only college, but life as well.
Best advice I can give to an incoming freshman is ALWAYS go to class each and everyday! One missed day is not only your academic flaw, but it can also mean a missed opportunity for learning something new. However, don’t be intimidated by walls, make some new friends, join clubs, and do what you can so you can be a success in life!
I am from Elkhorn, NE. I suffer from Asperger’s Syndrome, a form of Autism. Although my social interaction is awkward and limited, it does not mean I am an ignoramus. I am an excelling academic student, a musician with perfect pitch, and a political voice just for sport or for real life problems. Other than that, I am a sweet and warm person to meet and greet you along the way through college.
