Physical Education

Does your interest in health, physical activity and wellness come with a desire to teach youth? Educating our young populations about health and physical activity is vital if we are to reduce the incidence of health related illness. The physical educator is the person schools often call upon for health information, wellness education and fitness training for young adults. Often the primary advocate for health and fitness, the physical educator plays a most important role. Students interested in pursuing a career in physical education may choose from three options: Field endorsement in health and physical education K-12, subject endorsement in physical education K-6, or a subject endorsement in physical education 7-12. Most of our majors also choose to pursue a minor to coach. The coaching endorsement is considered a special endorsement and must accompany a field endorsement or two subject endorsements.
