Welcome and Mission
Dean's Welcome and Mission:
Welcome to the School of Education and Counseling at Wayne State College.
Wayne State College has been preparing educators, counselors and educational leaders for over 100 years. From its inception as the Nebraska Normal College in 1891 to its development into a State Teachers College in 1910, the Wayne State College School of Education and Counseling has and is proudly serving Northeast Nebraska, the nation and now the world.
Through Wayne State's undergraduate and graduate programs in the School of Education and Counseling we feel that education, counseling and leadership are profoundly moral endeavors and as a result, we have created rigorous programs that demand a great deal for students and instructors alike.
Our programs are NCATE accredited, which means that the faculty and staff at Wayne State have agreed to engage in serious and rigorous scrutiny and evaluation.
If you believe that schools, agencies and human service organizations have a vital role to play in determining the quality of a democratic society, then Wayne State College is the ideal place for you. If you want to be at an institution which is committed to preparing educators, counselors and leaders utilizing the latest in technology, an institution which values cultural diversity and an institution which believes that the best preparation of educators, counselors and leaders is one which sets as one of its strategic priorities International Education then Wayne State is the place for you.
Enjoy your tour through the School of Education and Counseling web site.
