Human Service Counseling

 

The undergraduate program in Human Service Counseling at Wayne State College is designed to prepare professionals with knowledge of people, individually and in interaction with others, and counseling skills to help people who are making changes in their lives.

 

The Counseling program builds on a background of Psychology and Sociology to help the students understand individuals and the influence of groups on them.

The Human Service Counseling program has 37 credit hours of counseling courses including the theory, interviewing skills, and group strategies. Students practice skills in class and in a 400 hour internship at an agency of their choosing.  See Higly Recommended Electives
