TASC - ITE Competition

Solar Cooker

The objective of this competition is to heat a small piece of steel to as high a temperature as possible in a fixed amount of time using only the power of the sun.

Each competitor will be provided a piece of metal to place in their cooker. The temperature will be measured by a non-contact thermometer on this piece of metal

Design limitations:

1. Cooker must not exceed 2.5’ in any dimension when operating
2. The cooker may not use any source of power or heat other than the sun (or in case of inclement weather, a light source provided by the contest coordinator.)
3. There are no other limitations on design.
