Vocal Performing Groups
The Concert Choir is the core vocal ensemble at Wayne State College and is open to all students who pass a qualifying audition. The group performs sacred and secular music of all centuries, both a capella and in conjuntion with instrumental ensembles. Important functions of the Concert Choir are regular holiday concerts, a Spring concert, and regional tours. In addition, the Concert Choir has scheduled a European tour every four years.
The Women's Chorus offers an opportunity for all interested women students to participate in a vocal ensemble. Enrollment is not restricted. The Women's Chorus performs on programs with the Concert Choir.
The Madrigal Singers are an elite group of musicians chosen from the Concert Choir. Each holiday season this highly-acclaimed ensemble performs a series of Elizabethan Christmasse Feastes on campus and at select locations in the region. Featuring fine food and superlative period entertainment, these Feastes have been a mainstay of the College's cultural calendar for many years.
