WSC Wind Ensemble
The Wayne State College Wind Ensemble, formed in 1998, is the college’s premiere concert band. Comprised of the most select wind players from the campus, the Wind Ensemble is dedicated to performing quality literature from the standard repertoire as well as contemporary works. Current projects include a commission with composer Thomas C. Duffy to be premiered in November of 2007. For information about Dr. Duffy visit his website at: http://www.duffymusic.com/index.html.
The Wind Ensemble performs at least four campus concerts each year and for special events in the region. Annual touring has taken this ensemble to destinations such as Ireland and Chicago with performances in Europe scheduled for 2008. The WSC Wind Ensemble has established itself as one of the premiere instrumental groups in northeast Nebraska and is a vital part of the Wayne State community.
