Lori Newcomb
English Education

Lori Newcomb earned her BAE in English Education and Psychology from Wayne State in 1991 and her MSE in English Education from WSC in 1997. In 2014, she completed her PhD in American Literature from the University of South Dakota. She has taught at WSC since 2008, where her teaching interests include American Literature, literary theory, and English education methods.

 

Her research interests include modern and postmodern American literature and film, gender studies, and language arts pedagogy. She enjoys delivering conference papers, especially at international conferences, and she has presented on topics such as the films of Clint Eastwood, the war novels of Tim O’Brien, and the travel writings of Olaudah Equiano.
