Linda Christensen, Ph.D.
Group Piano, Applied Piano, Music Technology

 

Dr. Linda Christensen teaches class piano, group piano, and music technology. She holds a BA from Weber State University, an MM in Piano Performance and Pedagogy from Southern Methodist University, and a Ph.D. in Music Education/Piano Pedagogy from the University of Oklahoma. Dr. Christensen is active in the Music Teachers National Association (MTNA), where she serves as the Nebraska State Competitions Chair, and the National Conference on Keyboard Pedagogy, where she chairs the Future Trends in Piano Teaching committee. She has given many presentations and workshops, including presentations for the Group Piano/Piano Pedagogy Forum, MTNA, and the College Music Society. She has been published in Keyboard Companion and the Piano Pedagogy Forum, and served as an educational consultant for the 2000 edition of The Music Tree. Dr. Christensen is also an Educational Specialist for Coda Music, giving workshops on using Finale® and SmartMusic®. In addition to her regular academic schedule, Dr. Christensen has been a faculty member at many summer piano camps focusing on music technology for children, and has also been musical director and pianist for many theater companies in Washington, Utah, Tennessee, Oklahoma, and Texas.
