Ann Reynolds
English Composition
Ann
Reynolds has taught as an adjunct instructor for Wayne State
College since 1988. She has also worked for The Learning Center
at Wayne State College in years past teaching classes such
as Succeeding in College, Vocabulary, and Critical Thinking.
While working for The Learning Center, in addition to teaching,
she tutored and gave presentations. Before coming to Wayne
State College, Ms. Reynolds taught English classes at The
University of Alabama from 1984-1987. In 1984 she was a full-time
instructor and in the following three years she worked as
an adjunct instructor. Classes taught include English Composition,
Introduction to Literature, and Survey of English Literature.
While living in Tuscaloosa, Ms Reynolds also did volunteer
community service work. She was trained as a tutor for Project
Plus and helped illiterate adults learn to read. She also
worked with adults form China who were learning English as
a second language. Ms Reynolds received her MA in English
from UNLV in 1980. While she was working on her degree, she
worked as a TA teaching introductory composition and literature
classes. After she graduated, she continued to teach English
classes for UNLV until she moved to Tuscaloosa, Alabama in
1984. Classes taught include English Composition, Introduction
to Literature, and Basic English.
Ms. Reynolds has given a variety of presentations at various
conferences and colleges. Presentation topics include: how
to use archetypes to discover the hero within, how to use
creative visualization into the classroom, and how to use
group projects into the classroom.
Ms. Reynolds is married to Vic Reynolds who teaches in the
WSC Department of Art and Design. She has one daughter, Julie,
who goes to college at UNLV. Ms Reynolds' hobbies include
alternative medicine (using herbs, minerals and homeopathic
remedies for healing), studying conspiracy theories, and reading
fiction, non-fiction, and poetry for pleasure.
