Students Attend CBI in ST. Louis
|

|
K92 students performed triple
duty during the annual convention of Collegiate
Broadcasters, Inc., in St. Louis in October.
In addition to attending convention sessions,
they presented a well-received seminar and "Cybercast"
from the exhibit hall.
The WSC Mass Communication Program Area sent
two vanloads of broadcasting and journalism
students to the convention, plus advisors broadcast
advisors Maureen Carrigg and Mike Marek, and
journalism advisor Max MacElwain.

| K92 students Cassie Anderson,
Liz Daehnke, Cory Johnston, Chris Schlichte,
and recent alumnus Casey Daehnke presented a
seminar with the intentionally provocative title
"The Advisor from Hell."
The students had worked with three radio station
advisors in three semesters, and shared their
insights about working with changing leadership.

For the third consecutive
year, K92 was also responsible for two hours
of web-streamed programming from a special radio
studio set up in the convention exhibit hall.
The Cybercast also featured students from schools
such as the University of Minnesota, Illinois
State, Northern Kentucky, Azusa Pacific University,
and Samford University.
In a separate CBI session, KWSC's Maureen Carrigg
and Mike Marek, along with a colleague from
Oregon, presented a seminar on how college radio
stations should best react when receiving a
notice of apparent liability from the Federal
Communications Commission. |
