Attend CBI in ST. Louis
- K92 students performed triple duty during
the annual convention of Collegiate Broadcasters,
Inc., in St. Louis in October. In addition to
attending convention sessions, they presented
a well-received seminar and "Cybercast"
from the exhibit hall. (More)

Selected for Film Festival - Wayne State's
Television Workshop class had four films selected
in 2006 for the Middle of Nowhere Film Festival
at the Joyo Theatre in Lincoln, October 21,

Carrigg
Programs Norfolk Film Festival - KWSC-TV
faculty advisor Maureen Carrigg was invited
by the Norfolk Art Center to select films for
a special screening at the center in June 2006.
The theme of the festival was the work of filmmakers
with Northeast Nebraska connections. Films screened
included "Highway 12," a film by Carrigg
and WSC alum Zeke Brummels. (More)

Selected for DVD - "Flag Day"
(2005) a film by Maureen Carrigg and Kristy
Higby was chosen by W.W. Norton for inclusion
on a DVD for distribution with several Norton
Sociology textbooks. (More)

Brochure Tells
Mass Comm Strengths - During the fall of
2006, the Mass Communication faculty created
a recruiting brochure to tell the story of the
Mass Comm program area.
A main feature of the brochure reports on 2006
surveys of want alumni and current students
think of the program at WSC. (More)

24-Hour
Remote Supports Humane Society
- K92, presented
almost 1,200 pounds of dog food to the Northeast
Nebraska Humane Society with funds raised in
the annual 24-hour Remote April 12 & 13.
The station raised $475 for the Humane Society,
broadcasting live from multiple locations around
Wayne. (More)

"Simian"
Automation Implemented at K92 - K92 began
the 2006-2007 school year with a new radio station
programming automation system.
The Simian automation software
is in use by over 6,000 radio stations in 44
countries and was recommended for strong customer
support and flexibility. (More)
