WSC To Celebrate Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. Day

Dr. Johnny D. Jones, president of Little Priest Tribal College, will speak during the Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Day Celebration at Wayne State College, from 6 to 8 p.m. Jan. 20 in the Frey Conference Suite, Student Center.
Jones has spent his career working with youth organizations, school districts, colleges and universities, and non-profits organizations to enhance education endeavors for youth. He is passionate about educating minorities and helping them matriculate through higher education to obtain a degree.
He made Arkansas history in 2007 by creating the first African-American Community Leadership academic program, linked directly to community services and urban community leadership in the African-American community. He also created the DELTA Project (Developing Empowerment Linkages through Academics), which was designed to enhance student graduation rates from high schools in the Mississippi Delta.
