WSC Musicians to Raise Funds for Fellow Student Dec. 6 Published: 11-19-2010 12:00 pm Wayne State College chorale members will raise funds to benefit April Wylie, a WSC student and chorale member from Scottsbluff, at their fall concert at 6:30 p.m. Dec. 6 in Ley Theatre in the Brandenburg Education Building.
Conducted by Dr. Elise Hepworth and accompanied by Phil Pfaltzgraff, proceeds from the concert will benefit Wylie, who has been diagnosed with leukemia and is undergoing treatment in Colorado. A praise and celebration theme for the concert will focus on literature with a positive message.
"The works include our own Phil Pfaltzgraff's original composition, as well as compositions by Pfautsch, Bestor, Telemann, and Clausen,'' Hepworth said. "The concert's admission price will be free-will donations for April Wylie. A group of April's friends have organized the collection of the funds. The concert has been a joint idea. We will be recording the concert for April as well as sending her a message of love and support."
