Wayne State to Host Forum for Workers Affected by Lay-offs
Wayne State College, Wayne Area Economic Development, Inc., the Nebraska Business Development Center, and Nebraska Workforce Development are sponsoring a workshop for workers laid off from their jobs. The workshop will be at 10 a.m. Jan. 16 in Gardner Auditorium on the Wayne State College campus.
The session, which is expected to run about 1 ½ hours, will provide information about services and benefits available to employees when their company lays them off. Some of the re-employment and transition services you may be eligible for include: career and skills assessment, unemployment insurance, career counseling, financial counseling, job referral/matching, resume preparation, on-the-job training, interview techniques, classroom training, and researching companies.
