Wayne State College to Celebrate Martin Luther King Day
Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Day will be celebrated at Wayne State College with a dinner at 6 p.m. and a program at 7 p.m. Jan. 19 in the Frey Conference Suite of the Student Center.
Joseph Smith II, a native of New Orleans and a Wayne State College alumnus who now lives in Omaha, will be the featured speaker. A motivational speaker, he champions the cause of education, human rights and political empowerment. Smith majored in journalism at Wayne State.
Bossphilly, a soul, funk, and rhythm and blues group out of Lincoln, Neb., will perform at 8 p.m.
Dinner tickets are available for $11 for general admission and for $8 with a WSC meal plan. There is no admission charge to attend the program.
