Behlen Manufacturing CEO and Chairman to Visit as Executive in Residence

 

The Wayne State College School of Business and Technology will honor A.F. "Tony" Raimondo, CEO and chairman of Behlen Manufacturing Company, as this year's Executive in Residence on Nov. 10.
 
Raimondo will lead discussions at 10 and 11 a.m.  in Gardner Auditorium with Wayne State College business students on topics that may include business ethics, leadership styles, corporate cultures, corporate and personal citizenship, globalization and the changing world of work.
 
He joined General Motors upon completing his bachelor of science degree in 1962. Following management training and production supervisory experience at GM, he joined Moog, Inc., an aerospace company. He progressed from manufacturing engineer to several management positions within this people-oriented company that made the list of the best 100 companies to work for. In 1976 he relocated from western New York to Omaha. He spent several years at the Sperry Corporation as general manager of Vickers, a $90 million hydraulic products manufacturing operation in Omaha.
 
Raimondo joined Behlen as general manager for Wickes Corporation in 1982. Behlen has branch plants in Tennessee, Oregon, Alabama and China. Behlen employs more than 1,000 individuals with sales near $200 million. He has been recognized many times for his contributions to business development and quality practices including his induction into the Nebraska Business Hall of Fame.

 

Raimondo has given of his time and talent to serve in leadership positions on boards and organizations that promote the betterment of his industry, community, state and country. His talents have been tapped through various political appointments to provide input and insight into public policy. He has a BSME degree from Michigan Technological University and earned his MBA from the University of Rochester.
 
He and his wife, Jeanne, have four children. Each of his children has completed their MBA degree.
