Wayne State College Holds Winter Commencement Ceremony
Wayne State College held winter commencement Dec. 14 in Rice Auditorium. A total of 193 degrees were conferred by Wayne State President Richard J. Collings.
The Wayne State College Alumni Achievement Award was presented to Dr. Jerry V. Krause of
This is his second stint with the perennial March Madness favorite. His first stint with the Bulldogs was an 8-season run from 1985-92, when he served as a part-time assistant coach. He returned in the summer of 2001 from a five-year civilian term at the U.S. Military Academy at
Krause had a 17-year career as head coach at
Tiffany Faye Mullenhoff, a summa cum laude graduate, gave the commencement address. She is the daughter of Richard and Tricia Mullenhoff of
Derek Daniel Kinnison, an English writing major with a minor in biology, gave the invocation. Derek, of Wayne, is the son of Dr. Deborah Whitt and Daniel Kinnison.

The John G. Neihardt Scholars Program provides special academic and scholarship opportunities for outstanding students enrolling at Wayne State College.Each year the Scholarship Council selects a limited number from the qualified applicants to participate in the program, which offers special classes, colloquia, and advisement. Students accepted into the program, who maintain their eligibility, are awarded a four-year scholarship for tuition up to 128 total credit hours and an annual stipend of $500. |
