Wayne State Students Serve as Guide Runners
Walk by faith, not by sight. Three blind runners and a walker placed their faith in three Wayne State College students during the Wacky 5K Run in Chicago on March 2. The WSC students served as guide runners through the Blind Services Association.

Wayne State Service-Learning Projects Hit Record Numbers
Wayne State College service-learning efforts during the past semester involved more than 1,050 student participants in projects from a variety of courses and disciplines. This level of participation is the highest recorded for Wayne State College.

WSC Children's Show Marks 50th Anniversary
Wayne State College theater students continued a longtime tradition in April with the performance of "The Magical Land of Oz." This year marked the 50th anniversary of the annual children's show. School children from throughout Northeast Nebraska made the trip to the college’s Ramsey Theatre during the week of April 3-10.

Dr. Tammy Evetovich Leads Women in Higher Education Group
Dr. Tammy Evetovich, chair of Wayne State’s Health, Human Performance and Sport Department, embraces her new role as Wayne State’s representative for the Nebraska chapter of Women in Higher Education as a natural extension of her desire to lead talented professionals who know where they’re going.

WSC Professors, Students Visit Taiwan
Dr. Mike Marek, associate professor of mass communications, and Dr. Deb
Whitt, professor of communications and chair of the Department of
Communication Arts and Speech Communication, visited Chienkuo
Technology University in Changhua City, Taiwan, in March. The
professors, and students Lucas Christensen and Tony Miller, were
invited to visit the university to talk to English classes and interact
with students they have been working with online.
