Windows 7 - Calling all Software!
Published: 11-22-2011 12:30 pm
We are at a point with the Windows 7 deployment where we are preparing software packages for use in the new environment. We currently have well over a hundred software packages created in our Windows XP environment. Every time we make a major operating system change, we use the opportunity to survey the campus to find out what is still in active use. Your feedback is critical in helping us to determine what software you need to have in the Windows 7 environment.
We've already prepared a number of pieces of software:
- Microsoft Office 2010
- Web browsers (IE and Firefox) and all currently supported plugins
- Adobe Design Premium 5.5
- McAfee Anti Virus
- CD/DVD creation tools
- Groupwise 8 client (Yes, for a time we'll be running Groupwise on Windows 7)
- PDF Creator
We also know of several packages that we will have to move:
- SAP Gui
- Autodesk suite
If you have software that you use that is not on this list, please send an e-mail to win7feedback with the list of software titles that you need to have migrated. Also, if you are aware that your software title has a 64 bit version available, please make note of that in your list as we will be running 64 bit Windows 7. If you have no idea what that meant - don't worry :) We'll help to figure it out as well.
Thank you for your involvement!
