System Maintenance tonight

Greetings,

This evening we will be conducting required system maintenance starting at 5:15 PM and finishing by 9:00 PM.  Only the services identified will be affected.  The break this week does give us a good window of opportunity to complete the maintenance tasks in the least invasive method.  The list of services that will either receive maintenance or will be upgraded follows:

1) Most production web services will have intermittent connectivity
as the underlying software is upgraded. The following sites will be impacted for approximately an hour:

    www.wsc.edu academic.wsc.edu ecampus.wsc.edu
    helpdesk.wsc.edu wildcat.wsc.edu

2) We will upgrade willy.wsc.edu and it will take an hour.
Services impacted:

    inbound campus email, access to student email services,
    ezproxy services for the library.

3) We will install the OS level updates on the library system and
 expect this to take less than a half hour to complete.  A system
reboot may be required. This process will start after 6 PM

4)  We will upgrade Groupwise
