Sakai maintenance on Monday (8/13)

Greetings all,
For those of you returning to campus after a summer hiatus, welcome back.
For those of you who were here the entire time, happy home stretch :)
As we finish up the August session and enter a "classless" week next week,
we'll be doing a number of upgrades to prepare systems for the Fall term. We
will send out schedules for additional downtime windows for specific systems
next week, but Monday morning we'll be working on the Sakai system.
We will take the system down at 8:00AM and have it down until roughly
5:00PM. This will allow us to accomplish several important things:
- Upgrade Sakai from 2.7 to 2.8
- Fix spellcheck in Firefox (Yeah!!)
- Install the Melete module, which will allow faculty members to export
their course materials and save them outside of the Sakai environment, as well
as importing course materials from other sources.
- Install Gradebook2, a new gradebook module (the original gradebook
module will also be available)
- Move the Sakai database to a new, larger server
