As many of you know, this "quiet" week between the Summer and Fall terms is
one of our few opportunities to get system maintenance completed without major
inconvenience to students.
As a result, we'll be going a number of things in the evening this week
that may have impact on your ability to use systems:
1) This evening (8/16), from 5:45PM to roughly 9:00PM, campus e-mail will
be unavailable. This will include web and mobile device access. Incoming
e-mail will be queued for delivery, so rest assured you won't lose any
2) Tomorrow evening (8/17), from 5:45PM to roughly 9:00PM, we will be
working on the systems that distribute software to campus. This will impact
your ability to login to the network during that time period and may disrupt
your ability to run certain applications if you were already logged in. Our
recommendation would be, as always, that you shut down your computer before
leaving for the evening.
