Greetings,

 

This Saturday, July 28, the electricity to campus will be shut down for the installation of a new transformer on campus.  All of the electricity will be off.  Therefore we have no choice but to shut down the entire computing system.  Since the electricity is scheduled to go off at noon, we will shut the network down much sooner.  It takes over 90 minutes if all goes well to gracefully shut the system down.  That said, we will shut the system off at 10:00 AM and turn it back on when the electricity has been turned back on.  We are expecting to start that process no later than 4:00 PM.  But, that still remains to be seen.
