Internet 2 at WSC
WSC is a member of Internet 2, a research and development consortium led by over 200 US universities working in partnership with industry and government to develop and deploy advanced network applications and technologies, accelerating the creation of tomorrow's Internet. Internet2 is recreating the partnership among academia, industry and government that fostered today's Internet in its infancy.
High-performance networks are linking the campuses and laboratories of over 200 Internet2 member institutions. The high-performance networks participating in the Internet2 project provide the environment in which new network applications and capabilities can be deployed and tested.
In concert with Network Nebraska, the statewide internet backbone, Internet2 enables Wayne State, and Northeast Nebraska, to access an unprecedented array of educational resources.
