Taking an online test in WebCT
Click on the Quizzes or Tests icon in your WebCT course (you may have to click Evaluation Tools first). You should see one or more quiz titles. Available quizzes will be marked with a little pencil icon, and the availability dates and times listed below. Be aware that your instructor may place a time limit on the quiz. For example, the quiz may be available from 8 to 5 on a certain day, but when you start the quiz you may have only 30 minutes to complete it. If you are scheduled to take a quiz and it is not available for you, contact your instructor.
Click on the quiz title. The following page will give you additional information about the quiz itself -- time limit, etc. When you click the Begin Quiz button, any tiiming will begin. When you enter the quiz you will see:
Quiz summary information
1. the title of the quiz
2. your name
3. your start time
4. the time allowed
5. the number of questions
The quiz questions, and a place for you to answer

Answering questions

Submitting the quiz for grading
To submit the quiz for grading, click Finish. A confirmation message appears. Click OK. The Quizzes and Surveys screen appears. Note: you must click OK for your quiz to be submitted for grading.
Javascript errors
If you encounter a javascript error when you try to begin a quiz, close down the browser completely, and restart it.
Browser/computer crashes
If you experience a browser or computer crash during a quiz, when you begin the quiz again, the answers that you previously saved will be there. Note: any time that your computer or browser is unavailable during a quiz will be considered to be part of your total completion time for the quiz. If you experience a computer crash or other problem and cannot get back into the quiz, contact your instructor as soon as possible.
Pop-up blocking software
The quiz appears in a new browser window. If you have pop-up blocking software installed on your computer, the quiz may not appear. To take the quiz, you may have to disable the pop-up blocking software. See Technology Requirements for more on browsers.
