Sequence of Requirements for MSOM Degree

 

Timeline for Master's Degree Graduation Requirements

 

1. File Graduate Application for Admission form, one official bachelor's degree transcript
    Office: Admissions Office
    Time: Apply for Graduate Admission and request one official bachelor's degree      transcript at least two weeks before registration with the Admissions Office.

 

2. File Graduate Degree Reference form
    Office:
Graduate Office
    Time: At least two weeks before registration

 

3. Graduate Record Exam
    Office: Graduate Office
    Time: At initial registration time, file for the GRE general exam, to be
     completed within the first semester of enrollment.  Scores must be sent to the

     Graduate Office.

 

4. File program of study
    Office: Graduate Office
    Time: In the term immediately following admission to Graduate Studies,

    programs of study (Sport and Recreation Management) (Information Technology     Management) may include regular graduate courses as well as special     courses such as 695 Independent Study and 699 Thesis, which require special     forms. The student must complete the appropriate form, obtain the required     signatures and file with the Graduate Office.

 

5. Department meeting; file 15-Hour Graduate Student Evaluation form; admission to degree candidacy
    Office: Advisor, Department Chair, School of Natural and Social Sciences Dean,

    Graduate Office
    Time: After completing 15 semester credit hours

 

6. File Request to Take Comprehensive Examination
    Office: Advisor, Department Chair, School of Natural and Social Sciences Dean,     Graduate Office
    Time: Request to Take Comprehensive Examination signed and filed in the     Graduate Office two weeks before the examination

 

7. Thesis OR Scholarly Project OR Internship
    Office: Advisor, Department Chair, School of Natural and Social Sciences Dean,     Graduate Office
    Time: The internship will be completed as part of the program of study. The

    file paper and thesis must be placed on file in the Graduate Office 28 calendar     days before anticipated date of graduation.  The Non-Thesis signature sheet,     containing the appropriate signatures, must accompany the file paper. The

    Thesis signature sheet, containing the appropriate signatures, must     accompany the thesis.

 

9. File Application for Graduation
    Office: Graduate Office
    Time: Not later than the end of the second week of the semester in which the
    student intends to graduate

 

Please note:  A request for a waiver of any degree/program requirements is filed using the Letter of Petition.
