Centennial CampaignWayne State Foundation Launches Public Phase of Centennial Campaign
Wayne State College launched the public phase of the Centennial Campaign Remembering the Past ~ Investing in the Future, a $20-million comprehensive capital campaign, on Aug. 28. Phyllis Conner, Vice President for Development and Executive Director of the Wayne State Foundation, explained that capital campaigns go through a silent, or advanced gift phase, to raise 50 percent to 60 percent of the goal before going public. The campaign is conducted in this manner to gain a sense of the support for the campaign initiatives and an indication of the potential for reaching the goal successfully. Campaign co-chairs Jeanne Gardner and Leslie Bebee announced that the campaign had successfully reached 75 percent of the goal, or $15 million, at the time of the launch of the public phase.

Kimberly VroomanWSC Honors Student Presents at National Honors Conference

Wayne State College Honors student Kimberly Vrooman presented the results of her honors project at the National Collegiate Honors Council convention held Oct. 22-26 in San Antonio, Texas. Vrooman was the only Nebraska honors student invited to present at the 2008 conference.
