(TRUST) Coalition Minutes
March 22, 2006
Present: Don Buryanek, Michelle Waldecker, Derek Anderson,
Troy Reynolds, Dan Baddorf, Curt Frye, Ron Vick, Brian Wiese
and Kathy Mohlfeld.
Committee/Workgroup Updates:
Education and Information Report:
- The Rugby teams are planning on taking the e-CHUG in
late March.
Audio-teleconferences/Webinars Thursday at 2:00 p.m. in
the Cottonwood Room of the Student Center, see handout.
- 3/23/06 A Global Look at Youth Drinking
- Core Alcohol and Drug Survey-approximately 3/4 through
survey classes.
- Biennial Review due 12/31/2006; Task Force possible
subcommittee of TRUST Coalition
- Ron Vick, Jamie Mackling and Kathy Mohlfeld in the
Counseling Center are working on becoming Registered Providers
of Substance Abuse Services with the Office of Probation
Administration in Nebraska by attending 5 workshops this
semester.
- Lance Webster and Jessica Benoit of the Wayne Police
Department, Don Buryanek, WSC Faculty and Wayne City Councilman,
and Kathy Mohlfeld of the Counseling Center will be attending
the Creating Environmental Change workshop April 5-6 in
Sioux Falls, SD. Sponsored by The Network and the Higher
Education Center for Alcohol and Other Drug Abuse and
Violence Prevention (HEC).
- Nebraska Collegiate Consortium (NCC) to Reduce High
Risk Drinking- press conference was held on March 1, see
press release.
- Upcoming workshops:
Coalition Development and Environmental Scanning,
April 10, 11, or 12 (exact date will be determined soon)
Logic Model and Planning, two day team workshop the
week of September 11, 2006 presented by the Higher Education
Center.
Nebraska State Conference, November 2006
Proposed web based alcohol survey of Nebraska students
in Fall 2006. It will be in addition to, not to replace
the Core Survey in the spring semester. See NU Directions
“Update” newsletter for model program information.
Neighborhood Relations:
Kathy Mohlfeld spoke to the Ministerial Association about
the TRUST Coalition this month.
Policy and Enforcement: Next Safe Ride
meeting is 4/7/2006 at 3:00 p.m.
in the Counseling Center.
Wildcat Wheels
- Total #’s Feb. 10, 2005 through March 16, 2006
1,630 calls 4,071 passengers
- Averages Feb. 10, 2005 through March 16, 2006 42
calls/night 104 passengers/night
- We ran two cabs on St. Patrick’s Night. The
Wayne Stater ran a story on page 2 to inform students,
see handout. We received 23 calls and had 62 passengers.
Wildcat Wheels and SAB brought the drunk driving simulator
to campus yesterday, which happened to be during the
snowstorm. Approximately 75 people stopped by the simulator.

- Jason Mrsny of Campus Security gave a presentation
to the Greek Council prior to Spring Break about alcohol
and drugs.
