April 19, 2006
Present: Troy Reynolds, Ron Vick, Jessica Benoit, Dan Baddorf,
Jeff Carstens, Lin Brummels, Karen Granberg, Michelle Waldecker,
and Kathy Mohlfeld.
Sarah Sweeney of The Wayne Stater interviewed Kathy Mohlfeld
this week, see today’s paper for the article, page
4.
Congratulations to Dr. Jason Karsky for being awarded the
Teaching Excellence Award.
Committee/Workgroup Updates:
Education and Information Report:
- Audio-teleconference/Webinar: Strategies for High Risk
Events (Prom & Graduation) Thursday, April 20th at
2:00 p.m. in the Cottonwood Room of the Student Center,
see handout
- e-CHUG posters, see examples
291 students have taken the survey this academic year
e-CHUG and e-TOKE expire July 18-20, 2006,
e-CHUG will be renewed (103 students have taken the e-TOKE
assessment)
- Core Alcohol and Drug Survey-class administration completed
yesterday, surveys will be sent to Southern Illinois University-Carbondale
for processing
Biennial Review due 12/31/2006; Task Force possible subcommittee
of TRUST Coalition
- Ron Vick and Kathy Mohlfeld of the Counseling Center
are Registered Providers of Substance Abuse Services with
the Office of Probation Administration in Nebraska
- Nebraska Collegiate Consortium (NCC) to Reduce High
Risk Drinking-public colleges and universities

Department, Don Buryanek, WSC Faculty and Wayne City Councilman,
and Kathy Mohlfeld of the Counseling Center attended the
Creating Environmental Change workshop April 5-6 in Sioux
Falls, SD. Sponsored by The Network and the Higher Education
Center for Alcohol and Other Drug Abuse and Violence Prevention
