(TRUST) Coalition Minutes
September 13, 2005
Present: Derek Anderson, Greek Council; Dan Baddorf, KTCH;
Jessica Benoit, Wayne Police; Nicole Geiger, student; Karen
Granberg, WSC Peer Educators Network; Jason Karsky, Criminal
Justice faculty; Kathy Mohlfeld, WSC Counselor; Jason Mrsny,
Campus Security; Troy Reynolds, Campus Ministries; Lacey
Schwochow, Student Senate; Cami Story, Norfolk Beverage;
Ron Vick, GAMMA; Michelle Waldecker, SADD; Lance Webster,
Police Chief.
The Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Agency
grant application still pending.
We discussed working on promotions of Safe 21st birthday
celebrations this year.

Education and Information Report:

- A link to the leisure
time brochure will be put on TRUST Coalition website.
- A letter and two informational brochures were sent
to parents of new freshmen about talking to their
new students about alcohol/drug use prior to the student
leaving for school.
- e-CHUG = (electronic Check-Up to Go) alcohol use
brief assessment and feedback tool designed to reduce
alcohol abuse among college students

designed to reduce marijuana use among college students

- Dr. Karsky volunteered to have Kathy present the
information to his criminal justice classes; Lacey
will present the information to the Student Senate;
Kathy will contact Succeeding In College classes;
Derek will bring it up to Greek Council
- Norfolk Beverage Co., offer to co-sponsor speaker,
Carolyn Cornelison, Ph.D., www.ccspeaks.com
Her fee would be split 50/50 with Norfolk Beverage
Neighborhood Relations: The next meeting is 9/20/2005
at 2:00 p.m. in the Student Center room 103. Contact
Kathy Mohlfeld at 375-7321 for more information.
- Dan, Kathy, and Troy visited with Darlene Appel
of Riley’s and gave her a copy of the responsible
hospitality video and information over the summer.
Policy and Enforcement:
- Next Safe Ride meeting is 9/26/2005 at 4:00 p.m.
in the Counseling Center.
- The $0.25/credit hour increase of the Student Activity
Fee was approved by the WSC Board of Trustees in June
to fund the Wildcat Wheels Safe Ride program.
Wildcat Wheels: 143 calls and 356 people served this
semester
- 2 cabs will run on Thursdays during academic year,
except for holiday breaks.
- Lacey Schwochow is the Dispatcher Coordinator.
She outlined the budget and talked about the proposed
t-shirt sales.
- Cami invited Kathy, Campus Security and Law Enforcement
to Norfolk Beverages Liquor Law Conference on November
7, 2005.

to be distributed across campus and is on
