Around campus you will notice - may have already - displays and flyers about VDAY and "The Vagina Monologues" coming up in February. "The Vagina Monologues" is a stage play, produced and directed and cast by WSC students, that will be presented on February 25, 26 and 27 in Ramsey Theater. The Friday and Sunday evening performances will be at 7:30 p.m. and the Saturday performance will be at 2:00 p.m.

Eve Ensler, author of "The Vagina Monologues," has offered her play royalties-free, in exchange for participation in the college VDAY campaign to help raise awareness about violence against women and girls globally and to raise funds to support agencies and projects that respond to women and girls whose lives have been impacted by violence against them. The agency that will be the beneficiary of the VDAY campaign at WSC is Haven House.

  • January 27, 2005 @ 7;30 a Mother's Vaginas Workshop will be held in the Meadowlark Room on the Catwalk of the Student Center Atrium

  • February 1, 2005 @ 8:00 VDAY Slam @ Riley's - it's not a competitive slam more like an open mic with an emcee- you can read your own pieces or you can bring pieces from other artists to share.

  • February 2 and 3 2005 "Make Your Own Vagina" 11:00 - ? outside the student cafeteria VDAY will supply creative supplies or you are also encouraged to bring your own. VDAY will display " your vaginas" on campus and at "The Vagina Monologue" performances.

  • February 3, 2005 VDAY will host Thursday Night @ Riley's

  • February 25, 26, & 27 - Vagina Monologues:
    — 25th and 27th performances @ 7:30 p.m. in Ramsey
    — 26th performance @ 2:00 p.m. in Ramsey

  • TBA Laser Tag @ Riley's all proceeds will go to VDAY
