SAVE Coalition Meeting Minutes I/24/2005
Call to Order
In attendance: Connie Bargstadt, Kelly Heithold, DebScholten,
Jamie Paulson, Lin Brummels, Jaclyn McGill, Tanya Mitchell,
Sr. Cynthia
Old Buisness:
The Relationship Violence and Sexual Misconduct
Policy is l to approval and receiving President Collings’
signature.
V-Day A report was given on how planning and activity
are going regarding the production of “The Vagina
Monologues” and related awareness and fund raising
activities. Information and upcoming events can be accessed
from a V-Day link off of the SAVE Program / Counseling
Center links on the WSC website.
The SAVE staff and Jason Mrsny and Carissa Kollath
will be attending the next CALCASA Institute in Seattle
next week.
New Buisness:
A follow up report was given on Kavin Blacks required
Training and Technical Assistant visit to WSC which occurred
Nov. 14-16, 2004
January is Stalking awareness Month (the 2nd annual)
Jamie and Michelle provided information to The Stater
and a display will appear in the main display case in
Conn Library through out the month of January.
The 3rd semi-annual progress report for our Grant is
ready for submission to Washington.
The request for grant continuation funding should
be here soon:
Some considered changes are requesting the education
programmer position be funded as a FTE position and
approval to conduct data collection.
In addition the issue of sustainability ( Institutionalization)was
discussed.
An Incident Report form is being created and regular
meetings held b/w SAVE staff, Campus Security ,Jeff
Carstens and Lin Brummels to better facilitate the
accurate collection and reporting of incidents of
and response to issues involving relationship violence.
sexual assault and stalking for Clery Act reporting,
Grant progress reporting and Counseling Center reporting.
These meetings are on the First Friday of the month
at 9:30 in the Counseling Center.
Sr. Cynthia provided information about upcoming presenters
they will have on campus in the next few months, she also
was inquiring about the appropriateness and chance of
financial support of these presenters through the SAVE
Program.
Lin Brummels presented information on an Alcohol
Grant that she and Kathy Mohlfeld have been working
on. She also was soliciting signatures for the Memorandum
of Understanding required as part of the grants application
process.
The next SAVE Coaliton meeting is scheduled for Monday
February 21, 2005 at 2:00P.M.
Please try to attend the next meting especially those of
you who were Internal and External Partners and signed Memoranduns
of Understanding for the original Grants to Reduce Violent
Crimes Against Women On Campuses. We would like to have
your support and signatures for our grant continuation application.
