Teleconference report:

Last Months teleconference addressed working with Greek Organizations on campus, Derek Anderson, the Greek Council advisor and Ron Vick, GAMMA Advisor, were in attendance. Out of the information presented The SAVE Program and Greek Council will be working together to bring the " These Hands Don't Hurt Project" to WSC the first week of April which is Sexual Assault Awareness month.

The March teleconference is at 1PM on Tuesday March 30, 2004 the topic will focus on working with international communities, the teleconferences are held in the group room in the counseling center. If interested in this topic let us know seats are limited.

Sexual Assault Awareness Month activities:

Lavender ribbons were made available, although Brook from Haven House indicated that teal is the color being utilized for sexual assault awareness, clarification will be sought on this and the proper color of ribbons will be made available.

The " These Hands Don't Hurt Project" will be discussed with the Greek Council this evening at their meeting.

Bulletin Board information on sexual assault, stalking, date rape drugs and relationship violence and information for setting them up will be provided to each dorm floor for creation and display during April.

Letters and information are being sent out to all faith leaders in the community of Wayne and on the WSC Campus by The SAVE program in collaboration with Haven House.

Other awareness efforts include Denim Day on April 21, 2004 and Shine a Light on Sexual Assault on April 30, 2004

Discussion was held on co-sponsoring the "Clothesline Project " somewhere on Campus with the assistance of Haven House. It was decided we would do this utilizing some space in the student center for display.

It was also suggested that we work with Judy Johnson to coordinate publicity efforts.
and work through the city council to have a Mayoral proclamation for Sexual Assault Awareness Month. Other suggestions included bring a speaker to campus, it may be too late to plan that for this year.

Other business: The SART will be visiting the Mercy Medical Child Advocacy Ctr, in Sioux City, IA. It is the model for a center being opened by Mark Zimmer in connection with Faith Regional in Norfolk. It provides state of the art response, advocacy and evidence collection for child victims.
