Do you know someone in the military or are you a veteran? Do you have family or friends serving in an active duty war zone someplace in the world? Are you worried about your loved ones? If you answered yes to any of these questions, you may be interested in coming to the Counseling Center to talk to a counselor individually or in a group. It helps to know that you aren't the only person with fears and concerns about your nearest and dearest.

The Wayne State College Counseling Center has counseling services available for veterans and students with family or friends in the military. The Counseling Center offers both individual assistance and group meetings for students who are interested in discussing the impact of military service. Stop by the Counseling Center or call to let the counselors know that you are interested in more information.

TIPS FOR STRESS MANAGEMENT

1. Get plenty of sleep.
2. Eat regular balanced meals.
3. Exercise regularly.
4. Take time to relax.
5. Keep in touch with friends and family.
6. Go to class.
7. Manage your time so you can correspond with loved ones and still have time for homework.
8. Check the news once or twice a day but don't spend the entire day watching news reports from the war front.
9. Find meaningful activities to help at home - donate blood, do volunteer work.
10. Seek help if you feel overwhelmed.
